Bill Baillie: “The Whitmore Saga

THEME-LESS (as an endless summer)

During the Revolutionary War an isolated family living at Jerseytown was attacked by an Iroquois raiding party.  Five of the children were carried off, separated, and raised for years by Native Americans in five areas in New York and Ontario.  Their exciting stories, including heroic battles and dramatic reunions, tell us much about multiculturalism in the time of our country’s origin.

Bill Baillie – Presenter Bill Baillie is author of several books and scores of articles on Columbia County history.  A retired educator, he is past president of the Columbia County Historical & Genealogical Society.
