National Poetry Month & an introduction to EKPHRASIS^

There should be something for everyone in poetry land. Maybe not the same thing for everyone. There are a lot of poems to choose from –yours? A noted bard? A 20thcentury laureate? Find one, bring it, read it, share it.We would love to hear from you.^An ekphrastic poem is one inspired or stimulated by a work of art. Assignment: Bring a framed painting, picture, poster, or photograph to be displayed for one month at the library.  Visit the library, get inspired, create a poem, bring it and share it at the May reading. So start working.

DIRECTIONS FOR SUBMITTING ART FOR EKPHRASTIC POETRY MONTH

1. Artwork for the River Poets Ekphrastic Poetry Project should be given to a library staff member by Friday, April 6th. You will receive a receipt for the artwork, which will be needed later when you pick up the art.

3. If the art is for sale, the price may be listed. If not for sale, the label should be marked NFS.

4. Owners accept all risks in displaying their works: Bloomsburg River Poets, its members, The Bloomsburg Public Library, and its staff, are not responsible for damage or loss.
